Awakening

Old Carriage House,
Deaf & Blind School, Colorado Springs, Colorado
with eyes of Buddha,
Kathmandu, Nepal
The mist begins to clear
As I open my eyes
And distinguish between
Reality and dream.
The obstacles ahead
Are great and many,
Making me wonder
Why I chose this path.
Have I passed this way before
Or is it all new
There are clues everywhere
A hint here a sign there.
Why did I mistake truth, or
What I thought to be true
When all this time
I have been living a dream.
Reality slowly opens the door
I step in and find the truth
Was there all the time
Just waiting for me to see.
